GOSHEN CITY
CHURCH OF THE BRETHREN

MEET OUR TEAMS
The Church of the Brethren believes in the priesthood of all believers, meaning that all believers are gifted and equipped to minister in the church. Whether it is in the form of a named position or other opportunities, our goal is to find meaningful ways for everyone to participate and serve, using their God-given gifts and talents.
PASTORAL STAFF
While we believe in the priesthood of all believers, certain people are called out for their gifts in teaching and leadership. We are grateful for the dedication, love, and service provided to us by our licensed and ordained pastor(s).

ALAN GRIFFIN
Interim Pastor
Over more than three decades, Pastor Alan Griffin has served congregations in Indiana and Texas, and is also a Consultant for Profound Change through the Center for Parish Development; a Missional Training Coach; and a Cultivating Generous Congregations Trainer through the Lake Institute on Faith and Giving. He has done extensive post-seminary study in the area of Christian spiritual practices, and has completed The Art of Transitional Ministry training.
A native of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Alan is a graduate of the University of the State of New York and Louisville Presbyterian Seminary and has studied at the University of Oklahoma and Vanderbilt Divinity School. Alan and his wife, Rhonda, live in Goshen and have two adult children, Chris and Kellie.
In his spare time, Alan enjoys reading, writing, laughing, woodworking, camping, celebrating life with his wife, visiting his children, playing with his dogs, and smoking true barbecue. In his professional life, Alan particularly appreciates opportunities to teach scripture, prepare sermons, discuss faith journeys or sticky theological questions, help people grow spiritually, and help the church live out God's love and justice in the world.
